Robert A. Handley, Jr., MD has an undergraduate degree from Texas A&M University and a Masters degree from the University of Houston Clear Lake. He received his medical degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston and subsequently did a General Surgery Internship at the University of South Alabama in Mobile, AL. He then completed a Diagnostic Radiology Residency and a Vascular and Interventional Radiology Fellowship at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, TX.
Dr. Handley is board certified by the American Board of Radiology with a Certificate of Added Qualification in Vascular and Interventional Radiology and a Diplomat of the American Board of Venous and Lymphatic Medicine. He is recognized by the Society of Interventional Radiology to have a special competency in Interventional Stroke Therapy. He also has extensive experience in minimally invasive vascular procedures.
He is a member of the Society of Interventional Radiology, American College of Radiology, Radiological Society of North America, American Roentgen Ray Society, American College of Venous and Lymphatic Medicine, American Venous Forum, Texas Medical Association, and Denton County Medical Society.
In addition to his medical training Dr. Handley has pilot licenses for both fixed-wing aircraft and helicopters and enjoys scuba diving.
